GST Tax Refund for Tourists to Canada

For full details on who can apply (tourist/individuals/family or business travelers) please see the official Government of Canada GST Refund website at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/visitors/.  This site fully details forms, pamphlets, flyers, about short-term accommodations at hotels, motels, resorts, cottages, etc.  It talks about the limit of $200.00 required (as of Nov 22, 2005 - this limit could change without being updated here please see the official site for the most up to date details) for accommodations and eligable goods.

Please note that in some airports (such as the Calgary International Airport) and border crossing points you may see red and white envelopes from the National Tax Refund Service.  This is not a government form but a third party private company that will work on your behalf (at the time of this writing they charged a 20% fee -min $10.00 - based on your GST Refund).  You may decide to use this service if you feel it will save time and energy.
