The winterized Manitoulin cottages are centrally located and provide quick access to all the inland lakes you can go ice fishing on.  Since Manitoulin is an island within Georgian Bay you can also fish the bay, which may only be frozen over in spots.  Just because a body of water is listed does not mean that it is currently safe for ice fishing.

Please Note that it is your responsibility to ensure that you have a proper license and that the fish you are catching are in season.  Ministry of Natural Resources Publications Web Site can provide full details on regulations for fishing.  Lake Kagawong is in Map C, Division 28.)

Here are the types of fish (mostly thanks to thefishingguide.com, partly thanks to local fishermen) you can catch at some of the more popular areas near by.  The time in brackets is the approximate driving distance from the cottage.  Below Muskie refers to Muskellunge, Pike refers to Northern Pike, Pickerel is the same as Walleye and SM Bass is Small Mouth Bass:

The cottage itself is on Lake Kagawong.  When ice fishing on Lake Kagawong you might catch:  Perch, Pike, Pickerel (not many), SM Bass.  Right out front of the cottage on the lake the snow can get quite deep so you may wish to bring snow shoes.
